The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation congratulates Michelle Smith on her Gold medal 400m Hurdles run. Michelle ran the 400m Hurdles final in a time of 56.99 setting a new North American Central American and Caribbean Under 18 championship record on the first day of competition. The previous record was held by Alliah Baker from Jamaica with a time of 1:03.36.
Akyra Joseph is competing in the Heptathlon in the North American Central American and Caribbean Under 18 and Under 23 Championships. In the 100m Hurdles Akyra set a personal best of 16.20, she placed 4th in the High Jump with a seasonal best of 1.47m, in the shot put she threw a personal best of 9.08m and she finished up day 1 with a personal best of 26.38 in the 200m.
Davina Browne competed in the javelin throw and finished 5th with a throw of 25.12m.
On Saturday July 22, Akyra Joseph will finish up her last 3 events of the Heptathlon with the Long Jump at 8:00 am, Javelin Throw at 11:00 am and the 800m 6:20 pm.
Sofia Swindell and Michelle Smith are running the 100m Hurdles final at 4:40 pm.
Sofia is running the 200m semi-final at 6:40 pm
Davina Browne is competing in the Shot Put at 5:30 pm
On Sunday July 23, Michelle Smith and Mikaela Smith running are competing in the 800m. Michelle is running the 800m U18 final at 9:00 am and Mikaela is running the 800m U23 final at 9:20 am.
Mikaela is running the 1500m final at 11:50 am.
Sofia Swindell is competing in the 200m final at 10:00 am.
