The V.I. Dept. of Sports, Parks and Recreation and The Virgin Islands Track and Field
Federation announced today that they will host the Under The Sun Sprint and Jumps Clinic which is
bringing Olympic track and field medalist Jason Rouser and Lamont Smith along with World
Championship Medalist Jason Grimes, and World Ranked Stanley Holmes to work with V.I. coaches
and athletes in St. Thomas and St. Croix.
The Coaches’ Clinic will be held November 10 at The Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Track
and Field Facility. The clinics are open to all, they present a great opportunity for certified,
uncertified, active and inactive track and field coaches and/or those with interested in track and
field including public and private school and club coaches and athletes to get involved and/or
enhance their knowledge of the sport.
Registration for the clinics is available at vitrackandfield.com no later than Wednesday,
November 9th. Registration with AAU is also required.
This event is a collaborative effort of the Amateur Athletic Union of the USA (AAU), V.I. Parks
and Recreation, and the Virgin Islands Track & Field Federation (VITFF).
