Michelle Smith

The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation in collaboration with the Department of Sports, Park and Recreation hosted the VI National Track and Field Championships on June 24 and 25, 2022 at the St. Croix Educational Complex Track and Field facility.

Highlights of the Championships were Michelle Smith from the St. Croix Track Club, setting a new VI National Junior Record in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 58.11. 

Maia Campbell, the VITFF’s senior athlete, set a Championship record in the Shot Put of 16.54m. VITFF senior athlete Malique Smith, set a facility record in the 400m Hurdles with a 53.24. Malique Smith also won a gold medal in the 200m.

Jordan Vaughn, St. Croix Track Club, Shot Put, Javelin and Discus

Michelle Smith is preparing herself to represent the Virgin Islands in the World Athletics U20 Championships which will be held in Cali, Columbia from Aug. 1 through 6, 2022. 

The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation is thankful for the support it receives from the VI Olympic Committee.
